What is the point of working with me as your Travel Advisor?
So… what’s the point of working with a travel advisor?
Some people come to me thinking I just “book trips.” Technically, yes, I do that.
But that’s not really the point and it’s not even half of what I actually do.
The point is how your trip feels from the moment you start thinking about it to the moment you get home. Most trips don’t fall apart in big, obvious ways. They fall apart in the small decisions no one warned you about. Maybe you ended up in a hotel room in a terrible location, despite gorgeous photos from the online ad. Maybe you took a cruise that was nice, but just wasn’t your style. Or maybe you had a vacation full of excursions that didn’t match your pace at all.
These are all areas where I pour my skills into making your vacation really fit your style.
Here’s what working with me actually looks like:
We start with a conversation, in the form of a video call. We go beyond “where do you want to go?” and get into how you want your trip to feel. Do you want to feel relaxed? Would you rather stay active the entire time? Or are you looking for a specific balance? Do you want some flexibility built into the schedule or do you thrive with complete structure? Are you celebrating something, or just ready for a reset? What kinds of activities, environments, and food do you love?
From there, I build your trip around you.
I have the ability to manipulate any sort of itinerary to fit perfectly for you. This is not the same as clicking “buy now” for a package you find online. This is customized work.
The best part is that I don’t disappear after that first draft. We refine things together and adjust as needed. My strength is in personalizing everything for you before finalization.
What that turns into behind the scenes:
For land-based trips, that might look like:
• Boutique hotels that feel intentional, not random
• Private transportation so you’re not figuring things out mid-trip
• Experiences built around what you actually enjoy (not just what’s popular)
• Private guides who elevate the entire destination
• Support while you’re traveling, so you’re never on your own if something shifts
For cruise-based trips:
• The right cabin or suite (this matters more than most people realize)
• Pre- and post-cruise hotels that make the trip feel seamless
• Private transfers to and from the port
• Shore experiences that don’t feel rushed or overcrowded
• Priority access and added touches where it counts
And maybe the most important part:
You don’t have to hold all the moving pieces in your head. You get to focus on the fun parts, especially the “we’re really doing this” feeling. I take care of making sure everything actually works the way it should. So many clients return from their trip, complimenting me on the pacing, the inclusions, the special touches, and the fact that they didn’t have to be the planner during their trip. They were actually able to just enjoy the vacation.
If you’ve ever come home from a trip thinking,
“That was great… but I’d do a few things differently next time,” that’s exactly what my process is designed to solve. I aim to fix problems before they become issues.
